Our school had set itself the task to create a school-charter , because we saw this as a very important part of 'school development'.
All students, parents and teachers should be made really aware what the rights and duties of each of the partners are. And we wanted to stress, as Antoine de Saint-Exupéry wrote in Pilote de Guerre (1942), that 'Chacun est seul responsible de tous' (Each one is responsible for all the others)

It was certainly useful, as it made everybody involved think very thoroughly about the rights and duties of all of us. It also furthered the co-operation among teachers, students and parents.

There will be no problems for any other school to work out a charter in this way. We would only recommend them to guide or supervise the students a bit more in their work than we did, as they have the largest and therefore the most difficult group to co-ordinate.
